DOES EVERY JEWEL COME WITH A GUARANTEE?

Yes. It is valid for 12 months for ready-to-wear jewellery, except for bridal and bespoke jewellery whose guarantee is for life.

For the purchase of any new Hafeez jewel you will receive a Certificate of Guarantee. We recommend to safely store the certificate as it guarantees the purchase date and authenticity of your jewels. Our Certificate of Guarantee is activated on the date of purchase of the jewel.

WHAT DOES THE GUARANTEE COVER?

It covers all manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months (or life for bridal and bespoke jewellery) worldwide provided that the damage did not result from any of the following:

• Accidents, including loss, theft or fire or other causes beyond our control, mishandling, negligence or abusive use (knocks, dents, crushing, etc.).

• Unauthorized alteration, tampering, dismantling, manipulation, or services and repair by third parties or anyone else than an authorised Hafeez dealer or e-boutique.

• Normal wear (scratches, loose stones, bending, etc.), routine maintenance and cleaning, and ageing of the metal and/or stones.

• Contact of delicate stones with water, cosmetics, perfume, chemicals, or any other corrosive products.

Repairs WITHIN the Guarantee

If the product is returned during the Guarantee period and is eligible, we will repair any manufacturing issue or replace any defective parts free of charge within a reasonable time after the product is returned, subject to the right to charge for shipping costs.

Please be kindly informed that under the guarantee we can only reset stones and fix components free of charge if they are in your possession and if we can assess that the damage occurred as a result of manufacturing issues. We are unable to replace them if you lost them and you'll be charged for any missing components or alterations.

Upon expiration of the Guarantee period, any repairs will be subject to a service charge and the cost of additional components.

Repairs BEYOND the Guarantee

We exclusively carry out repairs for Hafeez creations.

Beyond the guarantee period we are able to offer the below services. They are intended to preserve your jewel over time, allowing it to be maintained, as closely as possible, to its original state:

  • Stone/pearl replacement - £150 + price of the component
  • Repair or replacement of a component - £150 + price of the component
  • Length adjustment - £150 + price of additional metal if extended
  • Reshaping - £150
  • Extra jewel care (after complimentary annual care) - £150
  • Resizing - Complimentary the first time, then £150

Whatever the service requested, each of the listed interventions will be carried out to ensure the integrity of your creation.

CAN YOU REPAIR A JEWEL I BOUGHT ELSEWHERE?

No, we exclusively carry out repairs for Hafeez creations.

CAN I REPLACE A LOST GEMSTONE?

At Hafeez we take the utmost care in quality checking our jewellery, however, in the unlikely event that a gemstone falls off your jewel, we will be happy to assist you by providing a replacement for a service fee of £150 plus the cost of the new gemstone.

If the problem occurs within the Guarantee period and we are able to assess that it was due to manufacturing issues, we will waive the service fee and only charge you for the replacement.

Timeframes and charges vary depending on the stone and work to be carried out.

CAN I REPLACE A LOST EARRING OR EARRING BACK?

It is possible for you to purchase a single earring or earring back to replace a lost one. For more information about this service, please contact our Customer Service.

CAN I RESIZE A RING?

Hafeez provides altering and resizing services for the majority of our jewellery styles. The first ring resizing is complimentary within 3 sizes up or down, while any additional resizing will be charged according to our repair price list. To know if your selected style can be resized or altered and learn about timing and pricing, please contact our Customer Service team.

We discourage customers from getting their rings resized more than twice as this practice can permanently damage the piece.

Please note that it is not possible to return the jewellery piece once it has been resized or altered.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES?

Regardless of the number of interventions required per service, the price will be £150.

Any replacement components will be invoiced separately, and the charge does not include the costs to ship your jewel to us, including insurance and postal service fees. If you are shopping outside the UK, we would like to inform you that we are not able to cover any service or postal charges upon delivery of your repaired jewel(s).

HOW CAN I OBTAIN SERVICE?

You may obtain service by getting in touch with us via email or WhatsApp. We kindly ask you to include your order number, clear pictures of the jewel, a brief description of the issue, and the service requested.

You will be sent a Returns Form to be printed and filled in for our workshop experts to give an estimate of the work to be carried out. You will then be asked to review and approve the estimate, before sending your jewellery with the printed Returns Form enclosed to us. Please wait for our reply and repair approval before sending your jewel to us.

HOW LONG IS THE REPAIR?

Each intervention lead time may vary, depending on the complexity of the work required. Our Customer Service will be able to provide you with an estimated duration but the creation will always be closely examined by our experts in the workshops where a definite diagnosis, cost and duration will be established and submitted to your approval.

CAN YOU ORGANISE PICK-UP FOR THE REPAIR?

Kindly note that you are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipments to us include express certified delivery and insurance. Hafeez will not be held responsible for returns that are lost or damaged in transit.

WHAT PAPERWORK DO I NEED TO INCLUDE?

In order to obtain service through your Hafeez International Guarantee, the returned jewel must be accompanied by the original Certificate of Authenticity and Certificate of Guarantee that were included with the jewel at the time of purchase, duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by our e-boutique. If you are shipping from outside the UK, documents showing evidence of proper importation of the jewel into the country of final destination may be required.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SERVICE MY JEWELLERY?

We do not recommend for jewels worn on occasions to go through annual care but we advise to have them cleaned and checked professionally by us every 2 years.

By following our Jewellery Care suggestions, you'll be able to maintain your pieces looking new for a long time, so please consult the dedicated section for guidance.

CAN MY JEWELLERY GET WET?

While most of our jewellery can get wet with little to no impact, we recommend removing all Hafeez jewellery before engaging in the following activities:

  • Performing household and outdoor chores
  • Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the sea
  • Using lotion, hair products, fragrances and other cosmetics
  • Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
  • Preparing meals

Any damage resulting from the above is not covered by our Guarantee. Check our Guarantee & Repairs section for more details.

HOW DO I CARE FOR GOLD AND PLATINUM?

Professional Cleaning & Polishing

Professional cleanings are recommended once a year for frequently used jewellery. We encourage you to send us your Hafeez jewellery back to us for the professional servicing included in our complimentary annual care.

Only polishing can remove scratches from the metal. However, the patina of fine scratches that develops over time can add beauty to the jewellery and can reflect the journey a piece has taken. For gold, the polishing process removes metal and is only recommended to be carried out a few times over the life of the piece. Rhodium re-plating for 18 carat white gold is recommended at least one every two years to avoid colour fading.

Daily Care

Between professional servicing, most gold jewellery can be maintained with gentle soap and lukewarm water. Examine your jewellery regularly to make sure settings, clasps and joinings are secure.

The metal may look dull due to the alloys present and naturally scratch over time. To preserve the lustre of your jewellery, avoid exposure to chemical products, which will quickly cause the metal to discolour and possibly disintegrate. We recommend that you store your jewellery in a safe place when engaging in these activities:

  • Performing household and outdoor chores (i.e., cleaning and gardening)
  • Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the sea
  • Using lotion, hair products, fragrances and other cosmetics
  • Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
  • Preparing meals

Please be aware that damage resulting from any of the above is not covered by our Guarantee.

When not being worn, we recommend that you place your gold jewellery back in its original Hafeez box to prevent damage. Alternatively, you can store it in another suitably lined box or pouch.

HOW DO I CARE FOR GEMSTONES?

Professional cleaning

Dust, pollution, fingerprints and daily wear all conspire to cloud the brilliance of a gemstone and dull the surface of the metal. We suggest that your jewellery receives our complimentary annual care. Our trained goldsmiths will check the jewel and give it a thorough cleaning.

Daily Care

For delicate gemstones, excluding pearls, use a soft brush with a solution of mild dish soap and lukewarm water. Rinse well and dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Take care to protect your jewellery from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. Even a diamond can chip if hit with enough force or at just the right angle. Many stones such as amethyst, emerald, pearl, peridot, citrine, amazonite, tourmaline, and topaz are delicate and easily scuffed.

Gemstones can scratch other gemstones and wear away at precious metals. Therefore, avoid stacking those rings and bracelets that would be vulnerable to such abrasion. Extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics, ultrasonic cleaning and household chemicals can also damage jewellery.

Freshwater pearls will last for generations if cared for properly. Freshwater pearls should be kept free of perfumes, cosmetics, perspiration and dirt. You may gently wipe cultured pearls with a slightly damp cloth. If you wear your cultured pearls regularly, we encourage you to have them cleaned annually.
